Topshop and Topman go off to Vegas
Topshop and Topman, two leading British clothing retailers, will be opening branches in the Fashion Show Mall, Las Vegas in March. Shopping centres along the Strip had all canvassed the retailers but they have decided to sign up with the Mall. This will mean employment for more than 160 people throughout the 10 year lease period.
Established in England in the early 1960’s Topshop concentrates on women’s fashion and accessories. It has branches throughout 20 countries worldwide with its main store on Broadway, New York. An additional store is due to open in Chicago and the Las Vegas branch will be the third in the USA. Topman stores are the men’s clothing provider.
According to General Growth Properties vice president, Laurie Paquette, the retailers have said a great deal about Las Vegas in choosing to open in the city. Both the local population as well as the tourist will be delighted at the opening of the store. At the London Oxford Circus branch more than 205,000 shoppers visit the 30,000 square yard mega shop each week.
Kate Moss, famous supermodel, designed her first ever collection for Topshop. Up until now Topshop has been trading through the well known New York clothing store, Barney’s. The retailers highlight designer clothing and matching accessories plus cosmetics at a very affordable price.
Topshop has become one of the fashion industries greatest success stories as well as a leader in style and class. They set the modern trend with their up to date and fashionable clothing while at the same time paying close attention to providing excellent service to the personal shopper.
The two retailers will occupy premises on the first level of the Fashion Show Mall. They will be situated near Forever 21 and will have nearly 23,000 square feet of space available. They will be taking over premises previously occupied by J Crew in addition to premises presently housing Gap and Levi’s, both of whom will shortly relocate to within the mall. Building and re construction has been planned for the latter part of the year.
